Student Activities
Student Activities
MTC organises a stimulating programme of cultural, sports and community activities that aim at developing students’ social and physical skills, as well as their cultural and religious awareness. The College encourages all students to get involved in activities that interest them and also to expand their interests. Extra-curricular activities can be an important part of adjusting to college life by helping students to make social connections, reduce stress and develop and sense of belonging. There are also opportunities to build important skillsets, such as teamwork and leadership, and to learn how to manage free time alongside academic and military responsibilities.
Student Activities are overseen by four different student-led committees:
- Cultural Committee
- Sports Committee
- Catering Committee ( Nutrition Committee )
- Security & Safety Committee
Cultural Committee
The objectives of the Cultural Committee are to nurture and develop students’ talents by providing them with opportunities to participate in different cultural, literary and religious activities. The College holds a Cultural Week and other exhibitions and competitions to showcase the creative talents of its student community. Give some examples…eg. photography, art.
Sports Committee
The Sports Committee is a focal point for communication between the Sports Department and MTC students. Students can actively participate in the development of MTC’s high-quality training environment by submitting requests or suggestions via committee members. Educational lectures and awareness sessions about the importance of physical fitness are regularly coordinated by the committee throughout the academic year. The committee also works with the Sports Department to organise internal tournaments and participation in external events for MTC students.
Security & Safety Committee
The Security & Safety Committee works to spread security awareness amongst students and to ensure that they are living and learning in a safe, stable campus environment. The Committee organises lectures and exhibitions to improve student understanding of the criminal activities and the legal system, as well as organising fire emergency drills. Theoretical and practical first aid education for students is also coordinated by the Security & Safety Committee and the MTC Medical Centre.
