Admission
MTC is the only military college in Oman which provide study and guarantee the job for their students MTC ensures for its graduates many intensives which are:
- 3 meals daily, Accommodation, health care, sport clothing, WiFi, uniforms with laundry will be free provided for all students .
- MOD Advanced diploma graduates will be recruited at MOD and SAF, and awarded a Corporal rank for Advanced.
- All students are insured against risks within the college campus.
- MTC has an academic collaboration with a number of worldwide engineering institutions including IET, RICS, ICE, RAeS, IMechE, IMarEST, EI and EASA Part (66).
- Geomatics and Survey Engineering program associated with the work: Students will get Diploma degree only, and they will get the job grade in accordance with the regulations in MoD and the Sultan’s Armed Forces.
- Each student going to grant a laptop with Internet access when he enrolls in the college.
1. Requirements for fresh graduate students HEAC Admission:
MTC intake starts through HEAC Admission for fresh graduate students who can be either “Civil or Military”. The entry requirements can be seen for each Academic Year via the link (click here).
2. Direct Admission 2024 requirements for the previous years graduates:
The MTC announces there are limited numbers of Direct entry places in different programs (Office of COSSAF, Royal Army of Oman, Royal Airforce of Oman, Royal Navy of Oman, MoD Engineering Services ) The announcement can be seen via the link ( click here )
Previous years graduates have the chance to get the admission direct to engineering program without studying the General Foundation Program.
Academic IELTS with minimum score of 5 is required for all and to pass 2 separate exams which are:
- 4 pre_screening entry test for (physics, computing, pure math, basic math) the student mandatory pass these exams to enter to the next exams (entry tests).
- 4 entry tests for (physics, computing, pure math, basic math) with a minimum score of 60% in each.

When joining the service, all students are required to sign a service contract as follows:

Medical Regulation:
Students should fulfil the following medical requirements:
- 160-185cm height
- 18-25 kg average weight BMI
- 6/9 sight both eyes accuracy without colour blindness
- Normal blood pressure/pulse
- They should be free from the following medical conditions:
- Chronic conditions/diseases (blood pressure, diabetes, kidney, liver and heart failure)
- Respiratory System diseases (bronchial asthma, pulmonary tuberculosis, pneumonitis)
- Heart diseases
- ENT conditions
- Digestive System diseases (abdomen pre-surgery; unless justified, hepatitis, enteritis, pancreatitis)
- Urinary System diseases (uni-testicle, testicles swelling, hernia, uni-kidney)
- Nervous System diseases (hemiplegia or weakness in nerves and/or movement)
- Muscular/Skeletal System diseases (gonycampsis, rhaeboscelia, thumb prominence, muscular atrophy, fractures)
- Skin diseases/conditions (psoriasis, vitiligo, leprosy, clear burns)
- Other diseases (psychological disorders, and rare eye diseases)

Student Affairs
The Student Affairs Unit is part of the Admission and Registration Department at MTC. Dedicated to supporting the academic, military and personal development of MTC students, the unit is an integral part of student life from admission through to graduation. Our Student Affairs Officers provide advice and guidance to students to help them adjust to military college life and they serve as the main link for students and their families to other departments in the College, the Ministry of Defence and other services or sponsors. The Student Affairs Unit is also the main source of information for student news, updates and instructions, communicating regularly via email, SMS and website announcements.
Regular programmes and services provided by Student Affairs include:
Induction Week
At the beginning of each academic year, a multi-day induction event for new students is coordinated by the Student Affairs team. This event aims to provide students with knowledge about MTC’s academic and non-academic policies, regulations and procedures and to introduce them to the College’s facilities and services.
Student Services
Student Affairs Officers provide students with advice about all aspects of life at MTC, including their studies and training, attendance, complaints, financial and disciplinary matters. Students who need to inform the College about illness or absence, who need to request permission to leave campus or travel abroad, or who require help with supporting documentation should communicate with Student Affairs.
Awareness Programmes
Students are provided with ongoing support and guidance through seminars, lectures and exhibitions that are organised throughout the year to promote the development of the knowledge, skills and positive behaviours that will help them to be successful in their academic and professional careers.
Family Consultation
MTC recognises that positive support and encouragement from parents and other family members can have a significant impact on student engagement and motivation. The Student Affairs Unit offers a channel of communication for families to keep track of student progress, attendance and other important matters.
Alumni Affairs
Graduates of MTC are supported by the Student Affairs Unit from the period during which they complete their studies and throughout the process of joining employment with their sponsor. This includes assistance with preparing their documents and contract, where required, and officially transferring them to their service unit. Beyond graduation, MTC alumni are also invited to attend and participate in conferences, seminars, workshops and other events organised by the College.

Medical Care
All students and staff are provided with medical care at MTC’s well-equipped, on-campus Medical Centre, which operates both a daily clinic and 24-hour emergency services. Clinic hours are between 7:30 – 14:00 on weekdays and emergency service can be reached at any time by calling 2209 1917.
The Medical Centre also coordinates initiatives that aim to create greater health awareness across the College and to support the local community.

The MTC Medical Centre also works closely with the College’s Health and Safety Committee to ensure that students and staff are able to carry out their work to the best of their ability in a safe environment.
Student Counselling
The Student Counselling Unit is located in the MTC Admission and Registration Department. Staff in the Student Counselling Unit are available every day to assist students with the academic, social or personal challenges that they may face while they adapt to a military and academic environment. Counselling support services are confidential and aim at helping students to cope with the demands of higher education, to help them grow and develop their character and self-awareness, the assist them with finding solutions to problems and to encourage them to develop the social skills and behaviours that will enhance their college experience and aid them in their future careers.
The Student Counselling Unit also coordinates support programmes for groups of students throughout the year, including:
Awareness programmes
The Unit organises aimed at helping new GFP students to develop their self-esteem, strengthen their abilities, adapt to life on campus and help them with their decision-making and problem-solving skills. Before students graduate and leave MTC, the Unit organises a special programme to prepare them for their new workplace and to improve their professional communication and leadership skills.
Student support
Student Counselling staff regularly track and monitor students who may be facing challenges, ensuring that they are aware of the counselling support available to them at MTC and inviting them to visit the unit when if they encounter any difficulties.
Guest speakers
Throughout the academic year, the Student Counselling Unit invites guest speakers to the College to deliver presentations and workshops to students on a range of topics including leadership, CV writing, motivation, mental health awareness and more.

How long does the military training take?
It will be for 5 weeks continuously.
When does Orientation week start?
It will start in the beginning of September.
When will the placement test take place?
The placement test is conducted during the Orientation week.
How many terms in each academic year in MTC?
For General foundation Program is 3 terms, but for the engineering program is 2 terms.
