Research Strategy

The research strategy at the Military Technological College (MTC) is designed to promote applied research in alignment with Oman’s Vision 2040 and the National Innovation and Research Strategy. The MTC Research Committee reviews and approves projects, with external funding agencies and the Directorate of Applied Research (DAR) providing support. Regular seminars inspire collaboration among staff, fostering both internal and external partnerships. Recognition is granted to researchers presenting work internationally, publishing in reputable journals, and representing MTC nationally. MTC encourages staff and students to seek funding and attend conferences, while research performance is tracked through the MTC Research Management System. Funding schemes, consultancy services, and research commercialization enhance MTC’s impact. Research Policy

Research policy document sets out the procedures to conduct research at MTC and provides guidelines on publishing and presenting research findings in public domain. After defining the roles and responsibilities of various research personnel within the organization, the policy document provides a detailed description of research planning and management including research performance indicator, research funding schemes, consultancy, research commercialization, professional development for research, and research-teaching nexus.

Research Ethics

The Research Ethics provides a mechanism for assuring the ethical integrity of research carried out by MTC academic staff and directly registered postgraduate research students. An ethics review by the Research Ethics Committee (REC) is required for research projects which involve the collection of data or biological samples from human participants.
