Family support can play an important role in student success. MTC encourages parents or other family members to regularly encourage and follow up with students who are attending the College, especially those who have just started their higher education studies.
Students have access to their own attendance and performance records online and are advised to share this information with their families to help keep them aware of their progress and for additional support in case of any challenging circumstances. The Admission and Registration Department may also, at times, contact family members via SMS with updates about student attendance, academic progress or discipline.
Family members wishing to contact MTC should do so through Admission and Registration, either by phone (2209 1111) or in person during weekday office hours (7:30am – 2:00pm). Our staff can assist with general queries about programmes and regulations, as well as queries about individual students.
It is essential to contact the College in the event of student illness or accident, for permission requests to travel outside of Oman or for permission requests to participate in events or activities outside of MTC that take place during study or training periods.
MTC is committed to building constructive and mutually beneficial relationships with all of its stakeholders, including Ministry of Defence units and services, professional bodies, industry, other educational providers, alumni and the local community, in accordance with its strategic and operational plans.
The College aims, in particular, to meet its social responsibility by engaging with and supporting Omani society and ensuring its involvement in the continuing development and success of the Sultanate. Community initiatives aspire to share College knowledge and resources for the purpose of social development, to address societal issues and contribute to the public good.
Past activities include:
- Invitations to schools to visit MTC and learn about the College’s educational programmes and benefits
